The Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) held the Mission Leadership Summit from May 6 to 9, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand, under the theme, “One Mission, One Spirit, One Voice.” More than 240 participants, including leaders, department directors, institution representatives, and guests from the General Conference, gathered for several days of worship, mission reporting, and strategic discussion.
Organizers said the summit aimed to strengthen unity across the division and help leaders refocus on the church’s mission during the remaining quinquennium as the global church continues preparing for the “One Voice 27” initiative.

The program featured plenary sessions, Mission Spotlight presentations, worship services, and group discussions. Participants discussed mission collaboration and evangelistic priorities throughout the summit. Speakers repeatedly emphasized that the church must remain focused on God’s mission amid rapidly changing social and cultural environments.
During the plenary sessions, Richard McEdward, General Conference Executive Secretary, emphasized that church ministry must be re-centered on God’s purpose and mission. Magdiel Perez Schulz, assistant to the General Conference president, also spoke on church leadership and the importance of mission-centered leadership in a changing world. Additional presentations addressed cross-cultural mission and new outreach opportunities across the NSD territory.

One of the major features of the summit was the “Mission Spotlight” segment, where each country introduced local mission projects and evangelistic initiatives aligned with the “I Will Go” strategic vision and preparations for One Voice 27. Delegations creatively shared their mission experiences and future plans through videos, music, and cultural presentations.
On Sabbath, Erton C. Köhler, General Conference President, emphasized the identity and mission of Seventh-day Adventists in his sermon. “We are the people of the Book. We read the Book, preach the Book, teach the Book, and by God’s grace, we live according to the Book,” he said. “We are Adventists because of the last page of the Bible.” He urged members to remain firmly rooted in Scripture, emphasizing that “when identity is clear, mission is strong. Our root is the power of the Word, and our fruit is the strength of the mission.”.

One participant shared, “As we listened to reports from different countries, we were reminded that we are part of one mission family. The summit helped us better understand how we can work together more intentionally moving forward.”
Leaders expressed hope that the gathering would strengthen cooperation throughout the NSD territory and encourage churches and institutions to move forward together with renewed mission focus during the remaining quinquennium.
