Kanda Junction, Sri Lanka —

Faith was put into action as volunteers from Lakpahana College, in collaboration with Lakeside Adventist Hospital, conducted a community medical camp at Kanda Junction, located near Lakpahana College.

The medical camp was organized with a simple but meaningful purpose: to share God’s love with the community without boundaries by providing practical care and support to people in need.

As part of the outreach, community members received a range of free health services, including general health checkups, doctor consultations, medicines, eye examinations and free eyeglasses, and physiotherapy services. The initiative provided an opportunity for residents to receive essential healthcare while experiencing the compassion and care of the volunteers.

The outreach also provided an opportunity to connect with and serve a small group within the surrounding community, strengthening relationships and creating opportunities for continued service.

In addition to the medical services, the Children’s Ministries Department conducted a special program for children. Through activities and meaningful interaction, the children were given an opportunity to learn, participate, and experience the joy of community fellowship.

Altogether, the initiative was able to serve approximately 300 individuals, in addition to the children who participated in the children's program.

The collaboration between Lakpahana College and Lakeside Adventist Hospital demonstrates how education, healthcare, and Christian service can come together to make a meaningful difference in the community.

The camp was more than a medical outreach—it was a practical expression of faith, compassion, and service. Through faith in action, volunteers demonstrated that caring for people is one of the most powerful ways to share love with the community.
